Two trains of thought come to mind as I look at the above article:
Thought 1. What a clique of corrupt and corrupting supposedly Christian people to be inviting Our Holy Father, Almighty God's successor to St. Peter on Earth, to come anywhere near the pollution emanating from the institutional den of iniquity that the headquarters of Down District Council has become. Matthew 3:7 identifies John the Baptist's title for such people!
Thought 2. What an opportunity for our Holy Father to visit the seat of St. Patrick to remind the very people, who have desecrated the hallowed ground St. Patrick himself walked on, by their creeping retreat back into paganism, that the Christian way to celebrate the life of St. Patrick is to practise daily the justice that Jesus so often and so eloquently referred to in the New Testament.
Thought 2 is the one I am keeping in mind and I will be personally writing to our Holy Father, as I have twice written to the late John Paul II, to save Down District Council any trouble or expense. I can guarantee my letter will be honest and truthful so our Council will have no need to be concerned.
