Banbridge Councillor McDermott pleaded our case.

On another cold and very wet autumn night at another Annual SDLP Conference, this time in Newcastle Co. Down, my wife and I and several of our children stood with our placards outside the Slieve Donard Hotel as the SDLP delegates from all over Northern Ireland hurried past out of the rain and into the comfort of the plush hotel. Only one person stopped and talked to us and we told her of our plight. She told us that she would talk to her fellow SDLP members inside and promised to let us know what happened.
It was some time before she came back out into the rain to tell us that she had spoken to those inside about our case and that she had been told to mind her own business!
This lady was a councillor from Banbridge, Mrs. Catherine (Cassie) McDermott.

The Social, Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP) in Northern Ireland has been portrayed worldwide as the whiter than white party of upstanding Catholic politicians. Now please return to The Homepage and read just how evil this party is, posturing as the people to be trusted by good ordinary voters while they have operated corrupt practices in my local Council for over three decades and continue to punish a Catholic family for daring to challenge that corruption.
